Basically what the title says. Have anyone tried to install 16GB module into T440s? I know that official Lenovo spec says its impossible, but maybe it because there were no 16GB modules at the time of T440s releases. Top Rated Gear: Lenovo ThinkPad T440s 14' Ultrabook Computer, Intel Core i5-4300U 1.9GHz, 4GB RAM, 500GB HDD+16GB SSD, Windows 7 Pro (Upgrade to Win 8 Pro) MFR: 20AQ005QUS. Resolution: 1600x900, Weight: 3.5 lbs. The T440 can also get up 12GB of DDR3L, though we're not sure you'll need that much, since an i5 processor is your only option, not i7. RAM and storage aside, Lenovo is really bragging on 17-hours.

The Lenovo ThinkPad T440s is one of the best business laptops that you can buy. It has a strong build quality, serious styling, but most importantly, good speed, an excellent keyboard, and plenty of features. However, there is also a T440 (non ‘s') model available, too. This is more of a low-cost option and we've outlined the differences between the two models below, just to make it a little easier for you to device which one to buy.
Processor speed: The ThinkPad T440 is available in a slower speed than the ThinkPad T440s. While both laptops are available with Intel Core i5-4300U and Intel Core i7-4600U processors, the T440 can also be bought with a slower Core i5-4200U processor.
Graphics: Both use Intel HD 4400 graphics that are built in to the processor.
RAM: Both the ThinkPad T440 and the ThinkPad T440s support up to 12GB of RAM. One memory slot can house up to an 8GB module, and there is also 4GB soldered onto the motherboard. The low end T440 doesn't have on-board memory, relying solely on the memory slot.
Storage: Both the ThinkPad T440 and the ThinkPad T440s are available with a selection of hard drives and solid state drive options. Hard drives of 500GB (7200rpm) and 1TB (5400rpm) capacities are only available on the low-cost models, while a solid state drive up to 512GB can be selected in the most expensive models. The T440s also features hybrid storage in which the hard drive is aided by a 16GB mSATA solid state cache drive.
Screen: The T440s is available with a better screen that uses IPS technology and has a Full HD, 1920x1080 resolution. The T440 has a starting resolution of 1366x768 and is available up to 1600x900. Both models come with a 720p webcam.
Touchscreen: Both the ThinkPad T440 and the ThinkPad T440s are available with a touchscreen, though the touchscreen resolution on the T440 is 1600x900 and the resolution of the touchscreen on the T440s is 1920x1080.
Ports: The T440 and T440s both have Mini DisplayPort with audio, VGA, Gigabit Ethernet, and a full-sized SD card reader. However, the T440 only has two USB 3.0 ports compared to the T440s, which has three USB 3.0 ports, and the T440s also has a docking connector.
Wireless: Both the T440 and the T440s are available with either 802.11n or 802.11ac wireless networking (with 2x2 antennas), and with Bluetooth 4.0.
Weight: The starting weight of the T440 is a little heavier than the T440s. The T440 starts at 1.8kg, while the T440s starts at 1.59kg.
Dimensions: The ThinkPad T440s is a little bigger than the T440s. The T440 has dimensions of 339x232.5x21mm (width x depth x height), while the T440s has dimensions of 331x226x20.65mm.
Other common business features: Both the T440 and the T440s are available with mobile broadband, a fingerprint reader, a Smart Card reader, a touchpad and TrackPoint, a backlit keyboard, and two batteries (one internal and one external).
